Men’s Soccer Faces Mt. St. Mary’s in Home Opener

Bearcats and Mountaineers meet Thursday at 6:07 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (0-2-0) lost 3-1 at George Washington on Sunday afternoon in its second straight road match to start the season. Junior midfielder Alex Balkey netted the Bearcats' goal with sophomore back Ryan Gillon getting the assist.

- Mount St. Mary's (0-0-1) tied visiting Navy 2-2 last Thursday. Jack Kehoe scored both Mountaineer goals - both of which came in the second half.

- In the only previous meeting between the two squads, Binghamton won 1-0 at Mount St. Mary's last Aug. 22. Current senior back Luke Yates scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute.

- Since moving into the Bearcats Sports Complex in 2007, Binghamton is 12-5-1 in home openers. Binghamton has won its past two home openers, including a 1-0 decision over Le Moyne last season.
