Men First, Women Fifth in AE Swimming & Diving Polls

Conference unveils first-ever preseason picks

VESTAL, N.Y. – The America East has released its first-ever preseason swimming & diving polls and the Binghamton men's squad has been picked to capture its third straight conference championship. The Bearcat women's team, meanwhile, has been chosen to place fifth. 

The voting was done by the seven conference head coaches, none of whom were permitted to vote for their own team. This year's America East Championships will take place Feb. 18-21 with VMI as the host school.

On the men's side, the Bearcats finished with 24 points in the preseason poll, ahead of UMBC (21) and Bryant (18). More important, however, Binghamton earned four of the six first-place votes. NJIT (12), VMI (8) and Maine (7) rounded out the men's voting.

Binghamton earned 16 points in the women's poll, finishing behind New Hampshire (35), Vermont (28), Bryant (27) and UMBC (24). Completing the poll were Maine (11) and VMI (6). The Wildcats earned five of the seven first-place votes.

Binghamton opens its 2025-26 season at the Le Moyne Invitational on Sunday at noon.
