Binghamton Division of Athletics Celebrates Homecoming Weekend

Alumni games, home events and Hall of Fame ceremony highlight weekend

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton Division of Athletics took part in the campus-wide Homecoming Weekend with a variety of events spanning this past Friday-Sunday.

The annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on Saturday morning with this year's class including Jessica Hennig (2013, track & field), Nick Billings (2005, men's basketball), Gary Boughter (1977, men's soccer) as well as the 1995 volleyball team. The event was preceded by a welcome reception on Friday night.

The men's soccer, softball and baseball teams were all in action this weekend on campus. The men's soccer Homecoming match on Saturday against New Hampshire drew 1,009 fans to the Bearcats Sports Complex. The baseball and softball fall ball games took place on Sunday.

Also on Saturday, the men's and women's lacrosse teams as well as the softball program each held alumni games. In addition, the Division of Athletics had a tent at the university's Fall Festival to welcome back all Bearcat - and Colonial - alumni.

"It is always awesome to see our alumni return to campus and enjoying their time with classmates, teammates, professors and coaches," Director of Athletics Gene Marshall said. "This weekend was no different. Binghamton University Athletics has been built on the shoulders of these very talented and successful individuals, who laid a solid foundation for our current success academically,athletically, socially and in the community."
