Men’s Soccer Travels to Colgate

Bearcats and Raiders Square Off Thursday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-2-0) defeated defending CAA champion Hofstra 1-0 on Sunday for its second straight victory. Senior back Calvin Moe headed in a free kick by sophomore back Ryan Gillon in the 73rd minute for the game-winning goal. Graduate student goalkeeper Daniel Shannon, meanwhile, made six saves to record his first shutout as a Bearcat.

- Junior midfielder Alex Balkey is tied for second in the America East with two goals and is tied for fourth with four total points. Gillon is tied for first with a pair of assists while Shannon ranks third in goals against average (0.50) and is second in save percentage (.933). 

- In the Bearcats' two victories so far this season, both game-winning goals have been scored during the final 20 minutes of play. Balkey netted the game winner against Mount St. Mary's last Thursday in the 78th minute.

- Colgate (2-0-1) won 2-1 over visiting Fordham last Saturday. Cole Ramey and Aidan Wright netted the Raider goals in the victory.

- Eric Widrick is the current two-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week. He leads the league with a 0.33 GAA as well as a .975 save percentage.

- Ramey is tied for second in the Patriot League with two goals and is fourth with five total points. As a team, Colgate ranks third in the Patriot League with 1.67 goals per game.

- Colgate leads the all-time series 7-5-5. Most recently, the two teams played to a 1-1 deadlock at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Sept. 6, 2024. Current graduate student midfielder Tom Cohen scored the game-tying goal in the 75th minute.
