Women's soccer closes regular season at Vermont

With regular-season title, top seed wrapped up, Bearcats play tuneup Sunday afternoon in Burlington

VESTAL, N.Y. - With another America East regular season title and No. 1 playoff seed already locked up, Binghamton women's soccer (8-2-5, 4-0-3 AE) heads to Burlington to face a Vermont (4-5-7, 2-1-4 AE) team that is fighting for its playoff life. The teams kick off in their regular season finale at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Virtue Field.

The only remaining drama is whether the Bearcats can extend their conference unbeaten streak, currently at 21 games (13-0-8) dating back to the 2024 season. Binghamton is bidding to become the first America East team in 14 years to record back-to-back unbeaten conference seasons (Boston Univ. in 2010-12).

Regardless, the Bearcats will host a tournament semifinal game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. With an advancement, Binghamton also would host the championship on Nov. 14.

In the heavily congested conference standings, Vermont can finish as high as No. 2 but also can be eliminated from the postseason. The Catamounts have just one conference loss but have four ties that garnered just one point apiece.
