Stetzer, Iwanow and Creter honored for Senior Day performances

VESTAL, N.Y. – Sophomore Cameron Stetzer as well as freshmen Julia Iwanow and Evan Creter have each earned weekly accolades from the America East Conference. The Bearcat trio earned the honors by virtue of their performances during Saturday's Senior Day Meet against Wagner.

Stetzer was named the America East Men's Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career while Creter nabbed his first Rookie of the Week award. Iwanow, meanwhile, earned her program-best and conference-best seventh Women's Rookie of the Week distinction.

Stetzer won a pair of individual events during the Bearcats' Senior Day Meet against Wagner on Saturday. His 100 breast time of 54.67 broke the Binghamton pool record and is the top time in the conference so far this season. Stetzer also won the 200 IM (1:52.96).

Stetzer is the third Binghamton men's swimmer to earn the America East's weekly award. He follows sophomore Evan Peters (Oct. 21) and freshman Isaih Francis (Nov. 4).

Creter swept the 100 back (50.08) and 200 back (1:50.45) against Wagner. He is the second Bearcat to be named the America East Men's Rookie of the Week this season. Francis was the pick on Nov. 4.

As for Iwanow, she won a pair of individual events, was on a first-place relay team and was a part of two pool record performances on Saturday. Iwanow broke her own 100 breast pool record with a time of 1:02.22 and also won the 200 breast (2:16.80). She was also part of the 200 medley relay that set the pool record (1:44.69).

Iwanow's other weekly honors this season came on Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 24.

With the regular season having concluded, the Bearcats now turn their attention to the America East Championships, which will be held Feb. 18-21 at VMI.
