Bearcats will host Marist Friday for a 2 p.m. start time

VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton women's lacrosse gets set to kick off their 2026 campaign against Marist on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Friday's game and all future home games will receive complimentary admission through the partnership of Arctic Bear Heating, Air, Plumbing, and Water Treatment.

BEARCATS READY FOR 2026
After finishing 5-10 (2-4 AE) last season, the Bearcats are putting last season behind them and getting their sights set on to getting back into postseason play this season.

"I think for us it's a different makeup within the squad," head coach Stephanie Allen stated, who enters her 14th year with the program. "It's a new season, a different squad, and a different energy this season."

The Bearcats return 24 players from last year's squad and 12 from the 2024 championship team. 11 newcomers join the squad and will look to make the most of their freshman campaign when called upon.

THE CAPTAINS
The Bearcats will be led by senior attackers Emma Blloshmi, Carla Curth, and senior defender Gretel Cassell.

Blloshmi is coming off a historic 2025 season. A 2025 America East First Team selection, Blloshmi set a new program record for single-season goals (59) and free position goals (30). She finished the season first nationally with 2.00 free-position goals per game and ranked ninth in the country with 3.93 goals per game at the conclusion of the season.

The West Babylon, N.Y. native was selected to the 2026 Preseason All-Conference Team.

Curth comes into the season after recording a career high of 22 goals a season ago. She appeared in all 15 games with 14 starts and ranked third among all Bearcats with 34 points on 22 goals and 12 assists. The Garden City, N.Y. native notched at least one point in all but two contests.

Cassell will bring the veteran leadership on the defensive side of the field. She has started in 34 consecutive games, being a reliable defensive force for the Bearcats with 24 caused turnovers in those games.

The captains were all a part of the 2024 championship-winning team and will look to lead the Bearcats back to not only a postseason run but also to championship glory.

ON THE SCHEDULE
The Bearcats 2026 campaign features nine home games and six roads contest.

Binghamton will start by playing five of its first seven games at home. The Bearcats will play six non-conference teams that they faced last year, beginning with Marist on Friday at 2 p.m.

The team will then play Siena on February 13 and St. Bonaventure on February 18 at home before heading to Colgate on February 21.

Binghamton will then host Le Moyne on February 25 and Villanova on February 28. The Bearcats will then face off against Cornell on March 3 and Robert Morris on March 7 before kicking off conference play.

"I think it's good to have some familiar opponents," coach Allen stated. "Our primary focus is to keep our sights set on what this group can accomplish and really just taking it day-by-day and opponent-by-opponent."

The Bearcats then begin conference play at UMBC on March 14. Binghamton plays New Hampshire in its conference home opener on March 21.

The team then travels to face off against reigning conference champs UAlbany on March 28 and then UMass Lowell on April 4 at home.

Binghamton then plays Vermont at noon on April 11, their last non-conference game of the season against Delaware State on April 19 and then wraps up the regular season against Bryant on April 25 at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

SPECIAL DAYS
Binghamton women's lacrosse is set to host nine promotional games at home this spring to advocate and support specific causes close to the team, its players, and the community.

The Bearcats begin the promotional schedule with its National Girls and Women's in Sports Day against Marist this Friday.

The first 100 fans who attend the Bundle Up versus Bonnies game will receive free beanies on Feb. 18.

Binghamton will have its Morgan's Message game on Friday, 13, against Siena and its Better Together game vs. Le Moyne on Feb. 25.
