URBANA, Md. –
Brandon Conner surged to his second straight top 20 finish as the senior shot 69/3-under par in the final round of the Carpetbagger Classic to tie for 17th out of 96 golfers at the event Sunday at Worthington Manor Golf Club.
Conner finished the 36-hole event with a final tally of 77-69 = 146/2-over par. This comes less than a week after he tied for 13th at his last tournament, the Southern Intercollegiate, on March 16. The Cincinnati, Ohio native now has three top 20 finishes this season to go along with his two runner-up finishes. During the fall season, Conner placed second at both the Blue Hen Intercollegiate and the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, before tying for 15th at the Crusader Invitational last October. Conner is up to five top 10 and nine top 20 finishes for his collegiate career to go along with his one tournament championship, the 2024 Lehigh Invitational.
Harrison Blech, meanwhile, shot 74/2-over par for the second round in a row to finish tied for 26th at 148/4-over par.
Jack Tebeau also tied for 30th at 75-74 = 149/5-over par.
The Binghamton golf team, who co-hosted this tournament with Colgate, ultimately finished seventh out of 14 teams at 301-293 = 594/18-over par. Mount St. Mary's won the team title at 290-290 = 580/4-over par. Loyola Maryland's Jackson Roman won medalist honors while competing as an individual. He shot 70-67 = 137/7-under par.
Binghamton's next competition is the Battle at Rum Pointe, which takes place from March 27-28 at Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links in Berlin, Md.
