Softball Hosts Maine in AE Doubleheader

Bearcats and Black Bears square off Sunday at noon

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (5-16, 0-0 AE) has been off since its weekend series at Princeton two weeks ago. Sophomore third baseman Rachel Carey leads the America East with a .478 batting average, is tied for first with five home runs and is fourth with 17 RBI. Junior outfielder Maddy Dodig is seventh in the America East in batting (.379) while junior catcher Elisa Allen is tied with Carey for the conference lead with five home runs.

- Maine (8-21, 0-3 AE) was swept at UMass Lowell in a three-game conference series last weekend. Kaelyn Larkin leads the Black Bears and is fifth in the America East with a .390 batting average. Keira Inman is third in the conference with four home runs and is tied for sixth with 15 RBI.

- Maine leads the all-time series against Binghamton 37-36. Last season, however, the Bearcats swept a 7-2, 8-0 doubleheader on April 11 in Orono. Current junior catcher Elisa Allen homered twice in each game.

- Binghamton begins its 14th year of playing its home games at the Bearcats Sports Complex Softball Facility. Since March 30, 2013, Binghamton has gone 95-49 (.659) on its home field. This includes a 66-26 mark (.717) in America East games. 

- Sunday's doubleheader marks the first time the Bearcats have played an official game on their home field since defeating Bryant 10-3 last May 11 for the America East Championship. Since 2013, Binghamton has hosted the America East Tournament six times (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022 & 2025).
