About Binghamton
- Binghamton broke through with its first win of the season last Friday by defeating Mercyhurst 12-6 in Vestal. With the game tied at six at halftime, the Bearcats shut out the Lakers in the second half. It was the first time Binghamton shut out its opponent for an entire half since last season on March 25, 2025, at St. Bonaventure. The Bearcats shut out the Bonnies for the entire first half en route to a 6-5 victory in overtime.
- Connor Winters stopped 11 shots and collected two ground balls against Mercyhurst to earn his 21st career victory in goal. He trails Head Coach Kevin McKeown by three victories for the most career goalie wins in program history. McKeown won 24 games during his decorated All-American career at Binghamton from 2003-06. Additionally, Winters extended his streak of games with at least 10 saves made to seven games, which dates back to last season. For his performance, Winters was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the America East Conference last Monday, becoming the first netminder to have earned the honor four times since the award was introduced in 2025. Entering Saturday's game, Winters ranks seventh in the country in saves per game (14.00) and ninth in save percentage (.588).
- Andrew Girolamo recorded his second hat trick of the season with a game-high three goals against Mercyhurst, while also adding two assists.
- Eoin Mackay scored his first collegiate goal against Mercyhurst. So far this season, six different Bearcat players have recorded the first career goal. Along with Mackay, Liam Byrne, Austin Constable, Troeger Lombardini, Ryan Meyers and Nico Spaziani have each picked up their first collegiate goal this year.
- For the second year in a row, Binghamton looks to erase an 0-4 start to their season and get back to .500. The Bearcats accomplished this in 2025 by winning four games in a row to bring their record up to 4-4. Binghamton's 12-10 victory at Stony Brook on March 8, 2025, marked the beginning of the team's winning streak. Binghamton was ultimately able to qualify for the America East Men's Lacrosse Championship that season for the third time in the last four years.
About Stony Brook
- After losing its first three games of the season to Sacred Heart, No. 18 Rutgers, and No. 17 Virginia, Stony Brook has rebounded with back-to-back victories against Iona (8-6) on Feb. 25 and Manhattan (15-6) on Feb. 28.
- Goalie Tommy Wilk was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Coastal Athletic Association last Monday. The senior first made 12 saves and collected one ground ball against Iona, before posting nine saves and three ground balls against Manhattan. Wilk ranks second in the CAA in saves per game at 12.50.
- Collin Williamson leads the Seawolves in scoring with 13 points (10 goals, three assists). Williamson has recorded at least four points in two of his last three games, posting five against Virginia (four goals, one assist) and four versus Manhattan (two goals, two assists).
