Softball Heads to Bryant for AE Series

Bearcats and Bulldogs meet in DH Saturday, single game Sunday

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (9-18, 10-1 AE) took two out of three games against visiting UAlbany last weekend. Graduate student outfielder Darien McDonough hit a team-best .545 (6-for-11) against the Great Danes with a grand slam and five RBI. Junior catcher Elisa Allen homered three times and drove in five runs while sophomore third baseman Rachel Carey finished the weekend with a home run and three RBI.

- Carey leads the America East and ranks No. 11 in the nation with a .494 batting average. McDonough is sixth in the nation with 0.44 doubles per game while Allen is No. 31 with 0.38 home runs per contest. Allen also leads the America East with 10 home runs and is second with 25 RBI.

- As a team, Binghamton leads the America East in batting (.310). In conference play alone, the Bearcats are hitting .400.

- Bryant (13-17, 10-2 AE) won two out of three games at UMass Lowell last weekend. Garbriella Gesualdo hit .500 against the Rivers Hawks with a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.250 slugging percentage.

- Alisa West leads the Bulldogs and ranks eighth in the America East with a .369 batting average. As a team, Bryant ranks fifth in the conference with a .248 team batting average - but is hitting .338 in conference games.

- This marks the first time Binghamton and Bryant have met since the America East Tournament last spring. The Bearcats beat the Bulldogs 3-1 in nine innings in a second-round contest before taking a 10-3 decision in the championship game. In the all-time series between the two teams, Binghamton has a 12-2 lead.
