VESTAL, N.Y. – 18 members of the Binghamton wrestling team are set to compete at the 2026 U23 Nationals Freestyle competition from Saturday through Sunday at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio.
Each wrestler is competing on behalf of the Bearcat Wrestling Club. The tournament begins on Saturday with preliminary and consolation matches happening throughout the day. The opening session starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the second session beginning at 4 p.m. The final session starts at 10:30 a.m., on Sunday, which includes all medal matches and best two out of three finals.
Carson Wagner, one of the Bearcats wrestling this weekend, reached the podium at the 2025 U23 Nationals. The Nazareth, Pa., native finished in sixth place at 57 kg., to earn All-America honors.
Carter Baer is also set to return to competition two months after competing in the 2026 NCAA Men's Wrestling Championships. Baer went 2-2 at nationals to finish the season with a record of 20-6.
