The America East Conference
Spread Respect initiative is centered on creating an environment where every student-athlete, coach, and fan feels safe, valued, and included—regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Binghamton University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members have continued to actively support this mission by promoting awareness and education across campus. Through consistent outreach and tabling efforts, they are helping foster meaningful conversations and reinforcing the importance of equality, respect, and safety for all—especially in advocating for inclusion regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. These efforts not only amplify the initiative's message but also help build a more inclusive and supportive culture within the university and its athletic community.
The Binghamton University Spring Spread Respect games included:
· Saturday, March 21 - Women's Lacrosse vs University of New Hampshire at 12:00pm
· Wednesday, April 1 - Softball vs Colgate University (DH) at 3:00pm
· Saturday, April 11 - Men's Lacrosse vs UMBC at 12:00pm
· Friday, April 24 - Baseball vs Longwood University at 3:00pm (DH)
"The Spread Respect Games this spring reflected a great sense of unity across the student-athlete body." Said
Ramsey Tilgner, SAAC e-board member and men's soccer student-athlete. "No matter the jersey, the respect shown defined the successful impact of these games."
SAAC members tabled at these games to distribute candy and spread awareness of this initiative. Check out SAAC on their Instagram page:
