Track and Cross Country announces incoming class

Eighteen newcomers to join Bearcat programs next month

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton track & field and cross country programs have announced their incoming classes for the 2026-27 academic year. The eight men and 10 women will arrive on campus next month. 

On the men's side, Austin Benjamin (Bronx, N.Y.) is a sprinter from the Success Academy. He was second overall in the 100 at the 2025 PSAL Outdoor Championships. His top times are 10.73 in the 100 and 22.43 in the 200.

Owen Gasper (Auburn, N.Y.) is a distance runner from Auburn High School. He was the runner up in the 1,600 at the 2026 New York State (NYS) Outdoor Championships and was third in the same event at the preceding state indoor meet. His top times are 4:09.21 in the 1,600 and 9:25.15 in the 3,200.

Eli Hamann-Shay (Killingworth, Conn.) is a sprinter from Haddam-Killingworth High School. He placed fourth in the 400 at the 2026 Connecticut Outdoor Championships. His top times are 22.29 in the 200 and 48.36 in the 400.

Ayodele Joa-Griffith (Lawrenceville, N.Y.) is a sprinter and middle distance runner from Lawrenceville High School. He won both the 400 and 800 at the New Jersey MAPL Championships. His top times are 49.79 in the 400 and 1:54.08 in the 800. 

Kegan Mancabelli (Orchard Park, N.Y.) is a graduate student transfer from Cornell University who competes in the pole vault. He was the runner up in that event at the 2026 Ivy League Championships. His top height is 16-8 ¾.

Carlos Salazar (Deer Park, N.Y.) is a sprinter from Half Hollow Hills West High School. He placed fourth in 400 at the 2026 NYS Outdoor Championships. His top time in that event is 48.48. 

Cameron Snyder (Washingtonville, N.Y.) is a sprinter from Washingtonville High School. He won the NYS indoor title in the 300 and was the runner up in the 400 at the ensuing outdoor championships. His top performances are 10.75 in the 100, 21.63 in the 200, 33.73 in the 300 and 47.67 in the 400. 

Carson Zuba (Lancaster, N.Y.) is a distance runner from Lancaster High School. He placed eighth in the 1,600 at the 2026 Indoor Championships and was 10th in the 3,200 at the state outdoor meet. His top times are 4:15.63 in the 1,600 and 9:10.07 in the 3,200.

On the women's side, Panayiota Anastos (Endwell, N.Y.) is a junior transfer from Bryant University who competes in the throws. She was third in the shot put at the 2026 America East Indoor Championships and finished eighth in the hammer at the ensuing conference outdoor meet. Her top distances are 44-4 ¼ in the shot put, 130-11 in the discus and 160-2 in the hammer. Anastos graduated from nearby Maine-Endwell High School in 2024.

Nahla Battle-Crenshaw (Liverpool, N.Y.) is a sprinter from Liverpool High School. She was fifth in the 100 at the 2026 NYS Outdoor Championships. Her top times are 7.22 in the 55, 11.96 in the 100 and 24.95 in the 200.

Anna Congelli (Tully, N.Y.) is a distance runner from Tully High School. She won the 2026 NYS Section 3 Outdoor Championships in the 800. Her top times are 58.74 in the 400, 2:14.00 in the 800 and 4:41.71 in the 1,500.

Chloe Connolly (Glen Head, N.Y.) is a distance runner from North Shore High School. She won the 2026 NYS Section 8 outdoor championship in the 3,000. Her top times are 4:46.81 in the 1,500 and 10:02.98 in the 3,000. 

Maddie Devendorf (Liverpool, N.Y.)  is a sprinter and jumper from Liverpool High School. She was third overall in the long jump at the 2026 NYS Outdoor Championships. Her top performances are 7.24 in the 55 , 12.31 in the 100 and 19-4 ½ in the long jump. 

Julia Duzynski (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) is a distance runner from Somers High School. She was ninth overall in the 5,000 at the Nike Indoor National Meet. Her top times are 4:49.17 in the 1,500, 10:34.59 in the 3,000 and 18:25.50 in the 5,000. 

Kessler Hirsch (Middletown, N.Y.) is a sprinter and javelin thrower from Minisink Valley High School. She finished fifth in the 200 at the 2026 NYS Outdoor Championships. Her top performances are 7.26 in the 55, 12.18 in the 100, 24.79 in the 200 and 116-4 in the javelin. 

Riley Nageldinger (Dalton, N.Y.) is a sprinter and hurdler from Keshequa High School. She won the 400 hurdle title at the 2026 NYS outdoor championships. Her top time in that event is 1:01.51. 

Ally Schmitz (Orchard Park, N.Y.) is a pole vaulter from Orchard Park High School. She placed sixth in the pole vault at the 2026 NYS Outdoor Championships. Her top height in that event is 11-7.

Finally, Dejah Taylor (Unadilla, N.Y.) is a sprinter from Sidney High School. She was seventh in the 300 at the 2026 Indoor Championships and followed up with a runner-up performance in the 400 and a sixth-place finish in the 200 at the state outdoor meet. Her top times are 25.15 in the 200, 39.76 in the 300 and 56.76 in the 400.
