Oluwole named AE Outdoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete

Recent graduate adds to slew of academic honors

VESTAL, N.Y. – Matthew Oluwole - who graduated from Binghamton University this past spring - has been named the 2026 America East Men's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete. It marks the first time in his career that he has earned the conference's annual honor.

Oluwole concluded his Binghamton career with a sweep of both the America East indoor and outdoor high jump championships. He was named to the conference's All-Academic Team both seasons and was chosen as the 2025-26 SUNY Chancellor's Men's Indoor & Field Scholar-Athlete.

Each year, the America East chooses one Scholar-Athlete per sport. In addition to being a key contributor in their sport, all nominees must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Oluwole maintained a 3.92 GPA and graduated with a degree in business administration.

All America East sport Scholar-Athletes are eligible for the conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. There will be both a men's and women's winner announced later this month.

Since joining the America East in 2002, the men's track & field team has posted nine total Scholar-Athlete selections - five during the indoor season and four during the outdoor campaign.
