Keegan Shanahan Named Facilities & Operations Assistant

Cortland alum has worked at Binghamton since 2025

VESTAL - The Binghamton Division of Athletics has announced that Keegan Shanahan has been named a Facilities and Operations Assistant. She will be responsible for assisting in game day operations for all sporting events and various external events being held at Binghamton's athletic facilities. She will also assist with a variety of other tasks to support the Event and Facilities Operations Team and help ensure events and facility operations run smoothly.

Shanahan's promotion comes a year after she arrived at Binghamton. She was an intern in the Division of Athletics' Facilities and Operations Department during the Fall 2025 semester and was promoted to graduate assistant after earning her bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland in December 2025. 

"We are excited to have Keegan to our Facilities & Operations Team," Senior Associate Athletic Director Dave Simek said."Another outstanding product of the SUNY Cortland Sports Management program, she demonstrated outstanding work ethic and teamwork skills during her time as an intern and GA.  Keegan will hit the ground running and continue to have an impact on our team."

During her undergraduate career at SUNY Cortland, Shanahan was an Events & Operations Assistant during the 2023-24 academic year. She then worked as part of the Rink Staff during the 2024-25 academic year. 

Shanahan is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Sport Management at SUNY Cortland. Her expected graduation date is December 2027.
