VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer puts its 16-game conference unbeaten mark on the line when the Bearcats (5-2-3, 1-0-1 America East) face longtime SUNY rival UAlbany (3-5-1, 1-1 AE) Thursday night. The teams meet at 6:30 p.m. at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
Binghamton owns a share of first place in the conference one-quarter of the way into the eight-game slate. The Bearcats are coming off a resounding 3-0 home win over Bryant on Sunday and have outscored opponents 15-4 this season. Head coach
Neel Bhattacharjee's program is in the midst of a 16-game America East unbeaten streak (10-0-6) dating back to the 2024 season.
Reigning conference Offensive Player of the Week
Paige Luke is coming off a four-point game against Bryant and she leads the Bearcats with 11 points (2nd in AE). Junior forward
Jahkaya Davis has a team-high four goals and reigning Rookie of the Week
Chelsea Donaldson has three goals on four shots early in her collegiate career.
Senior keeper
Rebecca Kessler is tied for the NCAA lead with seven shutouts and ranks 13th in goals against average (0.40).
UAlbany has split its first two league games, losing 2-0 at Maine before beating NJIT 2-0 on Sunday. The Great Danes lost their first four games of the season (outscored 10-1) but have rebounded to go 3-1-1 since. The team returns 16 letterwinners from last year's 2-13-2 squad, including its top three scorers. The program was boosted by four transfers.
Binghamton leads the all-time series, which dates back to 1986, 23-8-6. While Division I members of the America East, the Bearcats hold a 14-8-5 cushion and are unbeaten in their last five head-to-head (3-0-2). Last season in Vestal, Binghamton won 3-0 behind a pair of second-half goals from Luke. Two years ago in Albany, the Bearcats won 4-0.
