The Bearcats shot 50% and led for most of the game until the Jaspers took the lead for good with 4:48 left. Manhattan then converted 5-of-6 free throws in the final 49 seconds to seal the win.
Binghamton struggled in the closing two minutes of each half, squandering an eight-point lead in the final 2:03 of the first half and then misfiring on 6-of-7 shots in the game's final 1:55. The 86 points allowed were the second most in the five-year history of the Events Center.
"It was a tough game today," head coach Kevin Broadus said. "Our guys didn't fight to the end and our defense was bad. Manhattan got good second-chance shots and they were more hungry today."
