STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Stony Brook (13-16, 8-8 AE) shot 52% and drained 10 three-pointers to roll over visiting Binghamton (7-22, 4-12 AE) 67-42 Sunday afternoon at Pritchard Gym. The loss completes the regular season for the Bearcats, who will face UMBC in the America East tournament 8-9 play-in game Thursday night from Hartford.

The Seawolves were in control early, hitting five of their first seven three-point attempts and using a 13-0 run to forge a 25-12 lead 12 minutes into the game. Stony Brook kept the throttle down and shot 60% in the first half to build a 42-25 cushion, thanks in part to 7-of-10 marksmanship from beyond the arc.
The Bearcats never drew closer than 15 points in the second half and absorbed their 12th loss in the last 13 games. After starting the conference season 3-0, BU went 1-12 to close it out and finished lower than sixth place for the first time in the school's 10-year America East history.

Dallas Joyner (16 pts., 8 rebs.) and Bryan Dougher (15 pts.) paced the hosts.

"They made plays and we didn't and we just couldn't get anything going on either end of the floor," head coach Mark Macon said. "We couldn't get any stops and when we did ... we didn't score. Joyner was a force for them today. When he occupies us inside its hard to stop their shooters and they shot very well today."

Senior forward Greer Wright was the lone Bearcat to reach double-figures. Wright netted 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Senior guard Moussa Camara chipped in nine points (3-of-6 three-pointers). Senior forward Mahamoud Jabbi contributed eight points and six rebounds and in the process, broke the school's single-season rebounding record (Division I). Jabbi has 226 rebounds, breaking the old mark of 223 set by Reggie Fuller in 2008-09.

"Mahamoud deserves it," Macon said of the record. "He plays extremely hard and he's a first team all conference player in my book."

Binghamton will tip vs. UMBC Thursday night at 8:15 p.m. from Hartford's Chase Arena. The teams split the season series with each team winning on its home floor. The play-in pairing features the two teams that battled in the championship game just two years ago.
