VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton swimming and diving program earned a split with visiting St. Bonaventure, Saturday afternoon at the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center. The Bearcat women were victorious 166-119, while the men were defeated 166-133. The women earned their third consecutive victory over the Bonnies improving to 2-5 in dual meets as the men dropped to 1-6 on the year.

Four different Binghamton women earned multiple victories on the day to the lead the charge for the Bearcats. Sophomore Lauren Flower, along with freshmen Shannon Lampe, Caitlin Kelly and diver Imani Williams all recorded a pair of first-place finishes against the Bonnies. The duo of Flower and Kelly assisted BU in dominating all five of the freestyle events. Kelly, the BU freshman record-holder in the 50 and 100 free, won each event with times of 24.71 and 53.96, respectively. Flower took first in the 200 and 500 free recording times of 1:59.37 and 5:14.76. She also finished second in the 200 IM (2:14.71) to round out her busy day. Lampe, who recorded her second and third victories of the year, won the 100 back (1:00.65) and 100 fly (59.77).

The Binghamton women scored major points on the boards with Williams leading the way. The freshman from Syracuse won both the both diving events, giving her at least one win in three straight dual meets. On the meter board, the BU freshman meter and three-meter record-holder scored a 221.85. She finished with a total of 232.43 on the three-meter board. Classmate Kimberly Robertson claimed second on the three-meter board, while senior Morgan Neal took third, giving Binghamton the one-two-three finish.

Other winners on the day for the women were juniors Olivia Baczek and Karissa Gorman and freshman Corinne Zotter. Baczek won the 200 back in a time of 2:09.18 and finished second in the 100 back behind Flower. Gorman began Binghamton's stranglehold over the freestyle events by touching first in the 1000 free (10:50.66) with freshman Stephanie Lindahl taking second, handing BU the one-two finish. Zotter, a local Vestal graduate, continued her impressive season winning the 100 breast (1:09.62). Gorman took second in the 100 breast to give Binghamton its fourth one-two finish of the meet.

The Bearcats also dominated both relay events to open and close the meet on a high note. The foursome of Baczek, Zotter, Lampe and Kelly opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:51.16) and then the quartet of Baczek, Lampe, Timea Tozser and Kelly ended the day with a win in the 400 free relay (3:37.27).

On the men's side, all-conference swimmers Nolan Slesnick and Josh Saccurato both swam to a pair of first-place finishes. Slesnick won the 500 free (4:39.57) and 1000 free (9:36.18), easily cruising to victory in each race. Saccurato was first to touch the wall in the 200 breast (2:13.21) and 200 IM (1:56.52), while also recording a second-place showing in the 200 fly. Slesnick also claimed third in the 100 breast.

Junior Tim Cabasino also had a strong day for the men, winning the 100 fly (52.48) and touching second in the 100 breast (59.71) and 100 free (48.18). Juniors Andrew Ellman and Aaron Budner each claimed second-place finishes in the 200 breast and 100 fly, respectively. The duo helped Binghamton claim a pair of one-two finishes and much needed points.

On the boards for the men, freshman Devin Zdanowski continued to open eyes, claiming his fourth straight win on the meter board (280.20). The rookie from Rochester, who has already set the new standard for BU freshmen in both diving events, claimed second on the three-meter board (283.28) finishing behind defending A-10 champion Mike Murphy.

Binghamton has a week off before hosting America East foe Stony Brook in their final dual meet of the season on Feb. 4. The America East Championships begin Feb. 23 and will be hosted by Boston University. Last year the men defeated Stony Brook 163-124 while the women earned the rare tie, 150-150.
