VESTAL, N.Y. – Berian Gobeil scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, leading Stony Brook (8-3-1, 2-1-0 AE) to a 2-1 win over Binghamton (6-6-0, 2-1-0 AE) in an America East men’s soccer game on Tuesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The loss snapped the Bearcats’ season-high three-game winning streak.
Gobeil, who now has four goals this season got behind the Bearcat defense and took a pass from Alejandro Fritz. He was then able to tap it into the net.
Seeking their first-ever 3-0-0 start in America East play, the Bearcats outshot the Seawolves 14-7 for the game. In the 14th minute, junior forward

Kevin Bunce. He then lobbed the ball into the net, giving the Bearcats an early 1-0 lead
Stony Brook drew even in the 41st minute when Rafael Abreu tipped in a free kick by Kyle Schlesinger.
The Bearcats made a furious rally after the goal by Gobeil. Stefan Manz made the final of his six saves in the last minute of regulation.

Binghamton hosts Vermont on Saturday at 7 p.m. in a game that will be regionally televised by Time Warner Cable Sports.
