PRINCETON, N.J. -- Binghamton wrestling (1-6) won the final three matches, including a come-from-behind overtime win by junior 184-pound
Cody Reed to push past host Princeton 23-12 Friday night from Dillon Gym.
With BU trailing 12-10 entering the bout at 184, Reed was looking at a 4-1 deficit midway through the third period before beginning the improbable rally. Two quick takedowns extended the match to overtime, where Reed completed the rally with a takedown for the 7-5 decision.
Reed's win was followed by dominating tech fall wins by senior 197-pound
Nate Schiedel and sophomore heavyweight
Tyler Deuel to give the Bearcats the final 11-point cushion.
Schiedel, ranked No. 6 in the nation, rolled to a 16-0 win to push his record to 11-0 overall, 7-0 in duals.
Princeton then needed a pin at heavyweight to gain a tie but Deuel had other plans, racking up 19 points in the tech fall. The win was his 10th of the season.
Earlier in the evening, No. 3
Donnie Vinson remained unbeaten with a 17-5 major decision at 149. Vinson, the reigning CAA Wrestler of the Month, is 12-0 overall, 7-0 in duals.
Also winning for the Bearcats were senior 125-pound
Patrick Hunter and redshirt freshman 165-pound
Vincent Grella.
Binghamton heads to Boston for a Sunday afternoon tilt with fellow CAA member Boston University.
