VESTAL, N.Y. – VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton swimming and diving team earned a split against visiting Colgate, Friday afternoon at the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center. The Bearcat men upended the Raiders 200-93, while the women were defeated 167-114. It was the final home meet for 14 seniors, who were honored prior to the meet.

"I think our seniors came prepared to give a great effort today and they did that with some solid performances," head coach Sean Clark said. "We've been working hard for the past couple months so it was good to see the team let loose and have fun. Some people swam events they don't typically swim and we tried a few different things, but overall it was a good day and we will continue to improve and work at our craft."

The Binghamton men started out the meet in impressive fashion as the quartet of Alexi Corey, Tommy Cummings, Devon Byrt and Brian McKenna won the 200 medley relay (1:39.63), earning the Bearcats 11 points. It was the first of 12 victories on the day for the Bearcats.

Senior Tim Cabasino and freshman Pat Kilgallen led Binghamton with a pair of first-places finishes. Cabasino won the 200 free (1:47.83) and 100 fly (50.36), while Kilgallen touched first in the 200 fly (1:59.29) and 200 back (2:01.68). Cabasino just missed the pool record in the 100 fly by .5 seconds as Kilgallen collected two wins in his second straight meet.

Other victors on the day were Corey, McKenna, Cummings and sophomore Colin Figus. McKenna recorded his sixth dual meet win of the season in the 100 back with a time of 53.33. Cummings touched first in the 500 free (4:53.30) earning a victory in his fourth consecutive dual meet. Corey and Figus claimed first-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:01.24) and the 200 breast (2:17.44), respectively.

On the boards, sophomore Devin Zdanowski swept the one and three-meter diving events. Zdanowski won the one-meter dive with a season-high score of 283.50, before taking first on the three-meter board with a six-dive total of 294.97. Senior Justin Mattison claimed a pair of second-place finishes in his last meet in home waters.



A trio of seniors, who swam in their final meet at the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center, led Binghamton with strong performances Friday afternoon. Danielle Blom, Olivia Baczek and Karissa Gorman each delivered a second and third place finish. Blom touched second in the 200 fly (2:21.08) then placed third in the 100 fly (1:04.01). Baczek, who also swam the 100 fly, beat her classmate for second with a time of 1:03.34. The all-conference swimmer took third in the 200 free (2:00.38). Gorman claimed first in the 200 breast (2:31.76) and third in the 100 breast (1:10.43).

Other impressive swims were delivered by Selina Ng, Racquel Giner and Taryn McLauglin. All three women swam to second-place finishes, with Ng being edged out in the 50 free (25.80) by Colgate's Sami Wary by .7 seconds. Giner took second in the 200 back (2:12.60), while McLauglin claimed a runnerup position in the 500 free (5:22.68).

In the diving events for the women, sophomores Kimberly Roberston and Imani Williams took second and third in the one and three-meter dive, respectively. Robertson took second on the one-meter board with a score of 217.81, while Williams finished third on the three-meter with a season-high score of 233.92.

Binghamton seniors Olivia Baczek, Danielle Blom, Aaron Budner, Devon Byrt, Tim Cabasino, Lauri Crimmins, Chelsea Deignan, Andrew Ellman, Karissa Gorman, Melissa Lindahl, Justin Mattison, Caitlin Nelson, Kimberly Ong and Josh Saccurato were honored prior to the meet.

Binghamton returns to the pool for its second meet in two days when the Bearcats head to Olean, N.Y. for a matchup with St. Bonaventure, Saturday at 1 p.m. Last year, the Bearcats and Bonnies split their dual at the Reilly Center as the Binghamton women won 166-119, while the men were defeated 166-133.
