Men's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Tie at Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Binghamton men's soccer team (3-7-4, 1-1-2 AE) played to a 0-0 tie against Hartford (8-3-3, 1-2-1 AE) on Saturday night at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium. With the draw, the Bearcats extend their unbeaten streak to three games.

The Hawks were credited with a 20-8 shot advantage for the game. The Bearcats, however, fired three of their shots during the opening sudden-overtime period. In the final overtime session, it was Hartford that had all three shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Stefano Frantellizzi made three saves to record his fifth solo shutout of the season. During the Bearcats' unbeaten streak, he had notched a pair of shutouts.

"I thought we were quite good tonight," head coach Paul Marco said. "Hartford is a good team and this is a tough place to play. We continue to compete well in matches. Our back four collectively were very good tonight."

Up next for Binghamton is a non-conference game at Columbia on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
