DURHAM, N.H. – Gunnar Ericsson and Lukas Goerigk scored in the opening 17 minutes, powering host New Hampshire (11-5-0, 4-2-0 AE) to a 2-0 win over Binghamton (3-9-5, 1-2-3 AE) in an America East men's soccer game on Saturday afternoon. The game was the final regular-season road contest of the year for the Bearcats.
Ericcson opened the scoring in the 12th minute when he booted in a rebound from close range. Uche Ugochukwu had the initial shot, which hit the crossbar but Ericcson was in the right place to get the loose ball.
Five minutes later, Goerigk converted a penalty kick, giving New Hampshire a 2-0 cushion.
New Hampshire outshot the Bearcats 18-8, due in large part to an 11-1 advantage in the opening 45 minutes. In the second half, however, the shots were even at 7-7.
In goal, sophomore
Stefano Frantellizzi made 10 saves.
