STORY LINES
- Binghamton (3-8-0, 1-0-0 AE) beat Hartford 1-0 in its conference opener last Saturday. Senior Steve Celestenetted the game winner in the 12th minute. Freshman Ben Ovetsky and senior Derrick Ladeairous were credited with the assists.
- Sophomore forward Alex Varkatzas continues to lead the Bearcats with two goals and four points. Celeste, junior forward Luca Bottoni and sophomore back Charlie Novorth each have a goal and an assist.
- New Hampshire (4-5-1, 0-1-0 AE) lost 1-0 to Stony Brook in its season opener last Saturday. David Shalter and Fazel Nabi each have scored a team-high two goals this season. Defensively, the Wildcats have shut out three of their first 10 opponents.
- Binghamton leads the all-time series against New Hampshire 7-6-2. Last season, however, the Wildcats won 2-0 at home on Nov. 2. At the Bearcats Sports Complex, Binghamton is 4-1-0, having last won 2-1 in overtime on Sept. 29, 2012.
- Defensively, the Bearcats have allowed one goal or fewer in nine of their first 11 matches. They have recorded a pair of shutouts during the season.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Moewes' 11-save performance against Syracuse on Sept. 23 marked the eighth time in Binghamton's Division I era that a goalkeeper has stopped at least 10 shots.
