- The Bearcats have already secured a spot in the America East Tournament for the third time in a row and 11th time in 12 seasons. They can finish no worse than fourth but with a win over Albany and a Hartford loss to UMass Lowell, the Bearcats would earn the No. 2 seed and secure a first-round bye.
- Albany (3-8-6, 1-4-1 AE) lost 3-2 at Hartford on Saturday. Alfonso Pinheiro leads the Great Danes with five goals and 12 total points so far this season. Leo Melgar has added four goals. Albany enters Wednesday's game still alive for a spot in the America East Tournament.
- Since the two teams moved up to the NCAA Division I level in 2001, Binghamton holds an 8-3-3 lead over Albany in the series. Last season, however, the Great Danes took a 2-1 decision on Nov. 6 at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Steve Celeste scored the goal for the Bearcats.
- At Albany, Binghamton is unbeaten in its last six matches, having gone 5-0-1 during that stretch. Most recently, the Bearcats won 1-0 on Oct. 6, 2012.
