STORY LINES
- Binghamton (2-5-0) lost 1-0 to Lafayette on Saturday night. Offensively, the Bearcats continue to be led in scoring by sophomore forward Alex Varkatzas, who has two goals and four total points. Sophomore back Charlie Novoth and junior forward Luca Bottoni each have a goal and an assist so far this season.
- Syracuse (6-1-0) won 1-0 at Clemson on Saturday evening. The Orange, who are nationally-ranked in both major polls (No. 23 in the Sept. 15 NSCAA Poll and No. 20 in the current College Soccer News poll), won 1-0 at Clemson on Saturday. Emil Ekblom, who leads the Orange with four goals and nine total points, netted the game winner against the Tigers.
- Syracuse leads the all time series 3-2-0. Most recently, the Orange took a 2-1, double-overtime decision on Oct. 1, 2013 at home. The Bearcats' last win in the series was a 2-1 triumph at Syracuse on Sept. 27, 2011.
- Binghamton concludes its season-high, four-game homestand with its game against Syracuse. The Bearcats play at home 10 times during the 2014 campaign.
- The Bearcats have started three freshmen during the first seven games this season. Christian Dam has started all seven games in the backfield while Isaiah Barrett has played five games at midfield and Ben Ovetsky had been at forward four times.
