STORY LINES
- Binghamton (2-6-0) lost 1-0 to No. 18 Syracuse on Tuesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Moewes made a career-high 11 saves for the Bearctas. Sophomore forward Alex Varkatzas continues to lead the team with two goals and four points. Junior forward Luca Bottoni and sophomore back Charlie Novoth each have a goal and an assist.
- Princeton (2-2-2) defeated Drexel 1-0 on Tuesday night. Thomas Sanner converted the game winner on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute. For the season, Sanner has three goals and seven total points. Cameron Porter, meanwhile, leads the Tigers with four goals and eight total points.
- Binghamton and Princeton have yet to square off in men's soccer. The Tigers, however, are one of three Ivy League schools the Bearcats play this year. Cornell and Columbia are the other two squads.
- Defensively, the Bearcats have allowed one goal or fewer in seven of their first eight matches. This includes a 2-0 shutout victory over Niagara on Sept. 7.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Moewes' 11-save performance marked the eighth time in Binghamton's Division I era that a goalkeeper has stopped at least 10 shots. The most recent occurrence took place when junior goalkeeper Stefano Frantellizzi made 12 saves against Columbia on Oct. 19, 2013.
