Men’s Soccer Heads To Hofstra

Bearcats and Pride to kickoff on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-7-0) lost 2-0 at Princeton on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore forward Alex Varkatzas continues to lead the team with two goals and four points. Junior forwardLuca Bottoni and sophomore back Charlie Novorth each have a goal and an assist.

- Hofstra (3-3-2) won 1-0 at Vermont on Saturday against a Catamount team that was receiving voted in both major national polls. Daniel Grundei netted the game-winner for the Pride.  Joseph Holland has a team-best 10 total points so far this season (two goals and six assists).

- In the only previous meeting between the schools, Hofstra rallied for a 3-2 win at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Sept. 7, 2012.

- Defensively, the Bearcats have allowed one goal or fewer in seven of their first nine matches. This includes a 2-0 shutout victory over Niagara on Sept. 7.

- Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Moewes' 11-save performance marked the eighth time in Binghamton's Division I era that a goalkeeper has stopped at least 10 shots. The most recent occurrence took place when Stefano Frantellizzi made 12 saves against Columbia on Oct. 19, 2013.
