Men's Soccer Hosts UMass Lowell on Homecoming Weekend

Bearcats and River Hawks kick off Saturday at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
 
Binghamton (6-4-1, 1-0-0 AE) won 2-1 at Vermont last Saturday in its conference opener. Graduate student forward Pascal Trappe, who leads the team with three goals and seven total points so far this season, netted the game winner against the Catamounts. Junior forward Logan Roberts, meanwhile, scored the Bearcats' other goal.
 
Roberts continues to lead Binghamton with three assists. He is also tied with junior Zach Galluzzo for second on the team with five points. Galluzzo scored twice in the Bearcats' 2-1 win over Siena back on Sept. 19
 
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
 
UMass Lowell (5-5-0, 0-1-0 AE) lost its conference opener 3-1 to unbeaten New Hampshire last Saturday. Wuilito Rodrigues, who leads the River Hawks with three goals, three assists and nine total points, scored their lone goal.
 
The River Hawks joined the America East in 2013. They went 3-14-1 that year but improved to 8-9-1 last season.
 
THE SERIES AGAINST UMASS LOWELL
 
The series between the two teams is tied at 1-1-0.
 
Binghamton defeated UMass Lowell 3-0 on Oct. 12, 2013 on Homecoming Weekend at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Roberts had a goal and an assist for the Bearcats.
 
Last year, however, the River Hawks returned the favor with a 2-1 home triumph on Oct. 25. Rodrigues had a goal and assist in the victory,
 
WORTH NOTING
 
There will be two Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List candidates playing on Saturday night. Junior goalkeeper Robert Moewes made the list for Binghamton while Rodrigues was selected from UMass Lowell.
 
The Bearcats have played seven previous Homecoming Weekend games at the Bearcats Sports Complex. They are 4-3-1 all time. Last season, the Bearcats dropped a 1-0, double-overtime decision to Vermont on Oct. 18, All eight previous games have drawn at least 1,600 fans. Twice, the attendance has been over 2,000.
