ST. LOUIS, Mo.-
Tyler Deuel of the Binghamton wrestling team will compete on Friday at the 2015 NCAA Championships after going 1-1 on Thursday. Deuel fell, 12-4, to #4 Austin Marsden of Oklahoma State. Deuel will face #3 Bobby Telford of Iowa in a consolation match on Friday. The night session saw 18,414 fans pour into the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Deuel, a senior, fell behind early to Marsden in the second-round contest. Marsden accumulated riding time for much of the first period and then held off much of Deuel's offense the rest of the way. Deuel moves into the consolation bracket on Friday.

Earlier Thursday night,
Jack McKeever fell, 11-4, to the 11
th seed, Minnesota's Brett Pfarr. Pfarr scored early and held the lead after one period. McKeever posted an escape in the second frame, but could not overcome the deficit. His season comes to an end with a 23-16 record.

In the team standings, Ohio State leads with 23.5 points after one day. BU is tied for 53rd in the 69-team field.

Jack McKeever of the Binghamton wrestling team competed at the 2015 NCAA Championships Thursday. The event is being held at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Deuel won, 8-3, over Ryan Solomon of Pitt Thursday afternoon. Deuel will grapple fourth-seeded Austin Marsden of Oklahoma State in a heavyweight championship second round bout tonight. McKeever dropped a 4-0 decision to Wyoming's Ben Stroh. Later today, McKeever will take on Brett Pfarr of Minnesota, the 11
th seed, in the 184-pound bracket.

Deuel almost immediately posted a takedown of Pitt's Ryan Solomon in their bout. Deuel followed with another two points later in the period. He accumulated plenty of riding time and tallied another takedown on his way to an 8-3 decision win.

McKeever opened with a pigtail match against Wyoming's Ben Stroh. Stroh grabbed a 2-0 lead after one period. McKeever cut into Stroh's riding time advantage in the second frame, but Stroh eventually escaped for a 3-0 lead. McKeever was unable to rally in the third, taking a 4-0 decision loss.
