BALTIMORE, Md.—The Binghamton Women's lacrosse team (3-4) will begin conference play tomorrow, March 21, as they travel to UMBC (5-3). Game time for this America East matchup is set for noon at UMBC Stadium.
QUICK HITSBrianne Arthur continues to have a hand in the Binghamton offensive attack. The sophomore is the only Bearcat to tally a point in every game this season (seven games), including goals in each of the last four contests.
Renee Kiviat leads BU with four goals in the last two games. The senior has four multi-goal games this season, tops on the team.
Defender
Kelsey Michele has forced opponents into seven turnovers, while not surrendering any thus far this season. Her caused turnovers/turnover ratio is the best on the team. Captain
Allie Rodgers is second on the team, causing eight turnovers and losing only four.
A win would push the Bearcats up to 4-4, and back to a .500 winning percentage. It would also put BU three wins away from tying their single-season record, set last year.
LAST TIME OUTBinghamton fell behind early, and couldn't catch up to Siena, losing 12-3 at the Bearcats Sports Complex on March 17.
Renee Kiviat scored two goals, and
Emma Jehle stopped eight shots in backup goaltending duties.
SCOUTING UMBCThe Retrievers have won two straight, and five of their last six games. Jennie Milligan, Abby Wilson, and Sam Nolan have combined for 24 points in the last three games. After this game UMBC will travel to Burlington, Vermont, on March 28 to battle the UVM Catamounts.
ALL-TIME SERIESUMBC leads the all-time series 10-1, but the Bearcats won last year's matchup. In 2014's season finale, Binghamton led by five goals at the half, and held off the Retrievers late, winning 8-7 at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Renee Kiviat tallied three goals in that game, while
Jocelyn Penteck added two goals.
