VESTAL, N.Y. The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (4-5, 0-1) resumes play after a five-day hiatus on Sunday, March 29, as they welcome the UMass Lowell Riverhawks (0-10, 0-1). Game time for this America East matchup is noon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
QUICK HITSSophia Racciatti leads the Bearcats with 15 goals and 19 points. Over the last two games the junior has amassed six goals and two assists.
Valerie DeNapoli leads Binghamton with ground balls (22) and draw controls (22). Over the last two games the sophomore has totaled seven ground balls and four draw controls, to go along with three goals and four caused turnovers.
A win would push Binghamton's record back up to .500. Last season the Bearcats were 6-4 through ten games, tops in the program's history.
LAST TIME OUTThe Bearcats are coming off of a 9-7 win at Niagara on Monday, March 23. Binghamton used a 4-0 run to take a 5-4 halftime lead, and then outscored the Purple Eagles 4-3 in the second half.
Callon Williams led the team with three goals, while
Sophia Racciatti and
Valerie DeNapoli added two apiece.
Erin McNulty made six saves in net to pick up her fourth win of the season.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELLThe Riverhawks' women's lacrosse team are in their inaugural season, and are still searching for their first program win. Jesse Jay leads the team with 11 goals, while goalkeeper Courtney Barrett leads the team in ground balls (39) and caused turnovers (17).
ALL-TIME SERIESThis is the first ever matchup between the two teams. They have three combined opponents: Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, and Siena. BU beat Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart, while UMass Lowell went winless against the three teams.
