Scouting Binghamton

The Bearcats (3-2-0) were defeated 1-0 at Marist on Saturday night, which snapped their three-game winning streak. Junior goalkeeper Robert Moewes, however, made a penalty kick save which kept the Bearcats in the game.

Freshman midfielder Kristian Piippo and senior midfielder Tucker Sandercock each have a goal and an assist so far this season.Junior forward Logan Roberts leads the team with two assists. Moewes and the Bearcat defense, meanwhile, have recorded a pair of shutout victories.

Scouting Cornell

The Big Red (0-4-0) is playing in its home opener against Binghamton. Cornell suffered a pair of tough losses this past weekend at the Duquesne Invitational, losing 2-1 in overtime to Cleveland State and 2-0 to No. 12 Oregon State. In the game against the Beavers, however, the Big Red kept the game scoreless until the 80^th minute.

Series Record

During Binghamton's Division I era, the Big Red holds a 5-3-1 series advantage. Cornell has won the past four meetings, including a 1-0 decision at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Sept. 13 of last season. Binghamton's last win in the series was a 2-0 triumph at Cornell on Sept. 23, 2009.

Worth Noting

Including the decisive shootout in last November's America East quarterfinal win over Stony Brook, Robert Moewes has now stopped four of the last seven penalty kicks taken against him.

Of the Bearcats' five goals this season, three have been scored by freshmen (Piippo vs. Manhattan, Conrad Nowoweijski vs. St. Peter's and Florian Orth vs. St. Peter's)

Binghamton's three-game winning streak from August 28-September 9 was its longest since the 2009 season.
