HACKENSACK, N.J. - Host FDU scored the game's lone goal in the eighth minute and the Knights (4-4) pinned a 1-0 loss on Binghamton women's soccer Friday night at University Stadium.
Sophomore keeper
Katie Hatziyianis recorded a season-high 11 saves to keep BU (1-6-1) within striking range but the Bearcats couldn't muster the equalizer.
FDU held a 27-10 shots advantage.
"It was another close game," head coach
Sarah McClellan said. "We just need to finish our chances but we're improving each game against very strong opponents and hopefully it will pay off as we approach conference play."
The Knights scored their goal after two initial shots were saved - one by senior defender
Alyssa Vallar on the goal line and another by Hatziyianis.Â
Binghamton plays its final non-conference game of the season Sunday afternoon at Cornell. Â
