SCOUTING BINGHAMTON

Binghamton (1-1-0) split a pair of games at the Ohio State/Ira and Bert Wolstein Classic last weekend. The Bearcats defeated No. 28 Ohio State 1-0 on Sunday, two days after dropping a 2-0 decision to eventual tournament champion Wright State.

Pascal Trappe scored the Bearcat goal in the fourth minute against the Buckeyes. He joined Kevin Flesch and Shevin Mohajeri on the all-tournament team. In goal, Robert Moewes had 10 saves in the match against Wright State and recorded the solo shutout against Ohio State.

SCOUTING MANHATTAN

Manhattan (0-2-0) has lost a pair of 1-0 games to start the season. The Jaspers dropped an overtime decision to Temple on August 28 and were defeated by Lehigh last Wednesday. Both games were played at home.
Playing out of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), Manhattan went 2-12-1 in 2014. Their top returning player, Alex Shackley scored three goals and added a pair of assists last season.

SERIES RECORD

This marks the first meeting between Binghamton and Manhattan in men's soccer.

WORTH NOTING

Flesch and Mohajeri were two of seven newcomers who started in at least one match last weekend. They were joined in the starting lineup against Wright State by freshmen Connor McKnight, Harrison Weilbacher, Kristian Piippo, Karamo Diaby and Miles Burbank.

FOR THE RECORD

Since the Bearcats Sports Complex opened in 2007, Binghamton is 4-3-1 in home openers. Their last such win was a 2-0 victory over Buffalo on Sept. 13, 2013.
