Lowell returned 23 letterwinners from last season's 6-12 squad that went 3-5 in the America East. While not yet eligible for postseason play, the River Hawks can play spoiler as the other teams jockey for playoff position. They have already beaten Albany (1-0) and UMBC (1-0) in recent weeks.
Sophomore Katelyn Vieira, a member of the All-Rookie Team last fall after scoring eight goals, has two more this season. Junior midfielder Rachel Morrier leads the team with three goals and seven points. Sophomore keeper Julia Schneider made seven saves at Hartford and has posted three shutouts this season.
