Bearcats have made meteoric rise in offensive statistics
As of Dec. 13, BU ranks 39th in the nation (of 351) in assists (186) and 42nd in three-pointers made (103). Last season, the Bearcats ranked 325th in assists and 315th in three-pointers. The team's scoring output of 71.3 is more than 10 points higher than the 2015-16 average (60.9). Twice this season BU has shot above 60 percent for an entire game and five times the Bearcats have shot 60 percent or higher for a half, including a program record 73 percent (16-of-22) in the first half against Loyola on Dec. 10. In that game, BU made its first nine shots of the game — another school record.

BU bench and depth paying dividends
Binghamton has 11 players averaging 10+ minutes in 2016-17 and their bench minutes rank ninth in the nation (kenpom). The bench outscored opposing benchs in 10 of its first 13 games and BU is 7-3 in those games. Six times in the first 13 games BU's bench has contributed 30 or more points. Coach Dempsey has used eight different starting lineups this season.

The "3" ball is best indicator of BU success
Through 13 games, BU is 8-0 when outshooting opponents from three-point range (3-pt FG%) and 0-5 when not.

Yacob dialed in from beyond arc
Redshirt junior guard Yosef Yacob is shooting 64 percent (18-of-28) from three-point range this season. His average would be top-10 in the nation but Yacob currently falls short of the minumum makes requirement (2.5/game).

Ahearn automatic in post
Inside the arc, junior forward Bobby Ahearn is finishing at a gaudy 77 percent clip — one of the highest two-point percentages in the nation. Through 13 games, Ahearn is shooting 66 percent overall, which leads the America East. He currently falls short of qualifying for NCAA stats (5 made FG/game).
