VESTAL, N.Y.—The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (0-1) will have its first home game of the season on Saturday, February 20, when the Bearcats welcome Niagara (0-0) to the Bearcats Sports complex for a 2 p.m. game.
QUICK HITSBrianne Arthur scored her 60
th career goal last week. The junior is tenth all-time for Binghamton, and is only three goals away from tying ninth-place Kimberly McGeever.
Callon Williams has a seven-game point streak going for the Bearcats, the longest active streak on the team. During that stretch (which dates back to April 4, 2015 vs. Vermont), the junior has tallied 16 points (12 goals, 4 assists).
Allie Rodgers is the reigning America East Defensive Player of the Week. The senior had four ground balls and four caused turnovers against Syracuse on February 14.
LAST TIME OUTThe Bearcats fell to third-ranked Syracuse 9-6 at the Carrier Dome on Sunday, February 14.
Sophia Racciatti had a goal and an assist, and
Olivia Batista scored her first collegiate goal. Goalkeeper
Erin McNulty had ten saves, and held Syracuse to single-digit goals.
SCOUTING NIAGARANiagara returns 18 players after going 6-12 (3-5, Mid-Atlantic) last season. Key returners include attacker Taylor Wolf (32 goals, 7 assists in 2015), defender Kara Martin (Preseason All-MAAC), and goalkeeper Andrea Francisco (12.95 goal-against average in 2015). This season the team is picked to finish sixth out of nine teams.
ALL-TIME SERIESThe Bearcats have a 6-4 all-time record against the Purple Eagles, including six straight wins. Last season Binghamton used four straight first-half goals to take a lead they would not relinquish en route to a 9-7 victory.
