VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton wrestling team fell to Bucknell, 21-15, Friday night at the West Gym.
Jacob Nicholson,
Vincent DePrez,
Jack McKeever, and
Steve Schneider each won for BU in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) finale at the West Gym.
The teams battled back and forth throughout the night, with neither side able to gain much of a difference on the scoreboard. Binghamton grabbed a late 15-12 advantage, but the Bison responded with a pair of wins to pull out the dual victory.

Nicholson took advantage early in his 133-pound match against Grim Gonzalez. After Gonzalez attempted a takedown, Nicholson countered and quickly scored himself. He then worked to gain position and earned a pin just 31 seconds into the contest.

Bucknell won the next two bouts, but
Vincent DePrez notched a victory to tie the dual. In his 157-pound contest against Logan Kerin, DePrez scored early and then registered plenty of riding time on his way to an 8-5 decision.

After the Bison won the 165-pound match, McKeever rallied the Bearcats. In his 174-pound bout, McKeever, 27
th in the latest NCAA Coaches' Panel Rankings, beat #21 Rustin Barrick, 3-2. The senior tallied a takedown in the first period and then held on, coming away with the crucial victory to tie the dual at 12.

Schneider, tabbed 20
th among 184-pounders, gave BU the lead with a tense 5-4 decision over #23 Tom Sleigh. Schneider scored early to take a lead and later collected an escape to stretch his margin. The sophomore eventually recorded a one-point win, putting Binghamton ahead, 15-12.
Bucknell logged wins in the final two bouts, including a pin by #8 Joe Stolfi in the heavyweight contest.Â

McKeever and
Kyle Kelly were honored in the senior night ceremony prior to the bout. Kelly took on Ben Bliss in an exhibition match, with Kelly claiming a 16-4 major decision before the start of the dual.

Binghamton concluded the regular season with an 11-7 record, including a 7-4 EIWA mark. Bucknell moved to 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference. The Bearcats return to action in two weeks at the EIWA Championships, hosted by Princeton.
