VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton men's basketball (7-20, 4-10 America East) aims for a season sweep of UMBC (6-23, 2-12 AE) when the teams meet in the second-to-last regular season game Wednesday night in Baltimore.Â
The Bearcats, winners of two of their last three, have beaten UMBC four straight times. With wins in their final two games, BU can earn the No. 5 seed for the upcoming America East tournament.Â
QUICK HITS•   With two regular season games remaining BU can finish anywhere from fifth to eighth for playoff position. The Bearcats sit in a tie for fifth place with Maine.  •   Binghamton will try to sweep the season series from UMBC after winning in Vestal one month ago. He made 6-of-6 free throws, including a pair with 0:09 left to seal the win.•   Freshman guard Timmy Rose tallied 13 points, five rebounds and three assists.•   Sophomore center Bobby Ahearn scored 11 points in 14 minutes of action.•   The Bearcats led from start to finish in completing the season sweep of the River Hawks. ABOUT UMBC•   The Retrievers score at a high rate (71.8 ppg.) but give up nearly 81 points per game (80.6) — third-most in the conference.•   In league play, UMBC swept Maine for its only two wins. BU has won 11 of the last 17 matchups.  •   Fourteen of the 28 games have been decided by six or fewer points.•   The Bearcats are 4-8 on the road in the series.•   One month ago in Vestal, junior guard Marlon Beck and sophomore forward Willie Rodriguez combined for 43 points to pace BU to a 66-57 win.
