Men's Soccer Hosts Hofstra in Final Non-Conference Game of Season

Bearcats and Pride to kick off on Wednesday at 7 p.m.






STORY LINES

Binghamton (5-7-3) lost 2-0 to UMass Lowell at home on Saturday night. Junior forward Nikos Psarras continues to pace the Bearcats with six goals and 12 total points. Sophomore forward Haris Brkovic has four goals while freshman midfielder Noah Luescher has three goals, a team-best five assists and ranks second on the squad with 11 total points.

Hofstra (4-5-6) defeated visiting UNC-Wilmington 2-1 in overtime to move to 3-1-4 in the Colonial Athletic Conference. Luke Brown scored the game-winning in the 94th minute. Oscar Ramsay leads the Pride with three goals while Danny Elliott has a team-best seven total points (two goals and three assists).

Hofstra leads the all-time series 2-1-0 but the Bearcats took a 2-1 road decision in the most recent meeting on Oct. 25, 2016. Current sophomore midfielder Matty Flax scored the game winner in the 76th minute.

With two conference games left in the season, Binghamton sits in sixth place in the America East standings with five points. The Bearcats trail fifth-place UMBC (seven points) and third-place Albany and UMass Lowell (tied with nine points). The top six teams qualify for the upcoming America East Tournament.
