Men's Soccer Hosts Albany on Senior Day

Bearcats and Great Danes kick off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Binghamton (5-9-3, 1-3-2 AE) dropped a 2-0 decision at first-place Vermont on Saturday despite holding a 17-9 shot advantage. Junior forward Nikos Psarras continues to lead the Bearcats with six goals and 12 total points so far this season. Freshman midfielder Noah Luescher (three goals, five assists) and sophomore forward Haris Brkovic (five goals, one assist) are tied for second on the team with 11 total points.
Albany (11-4-1, 3-2-1 AE) played to a scoreless tie at Stony Brook on Saturday night. Alfonso Pinheiro leads the Great Danes with seven goals and 18 total points. Nico Solabarrieta has five goals, is tied for the team lead with six assists and has 16 total points.
Binghamton is currently holds the sixth and final playoff spot heading into the match against Albany. The Bearcats would clinch a berth in the America East Tournament with either a win or a loss by Hartford and Stony Brook. The Great Danes currently sit in fourth place.
Since joining the America East in 2002, Binghamton holds a 9-6-3 lead over Albany in the series between the two programs. Last year, however, the Great Danes defeated the visiting Bearcats 5-1. Current senior forward Ben Ovetsky netted the lone Binghamton goal on a penalty kick.
Prior to the match, Ovetsky, Mike Kubik and Charlie Novoth will be honored during the men's soccer program's annual Senior Day ceremony.
