Women's Lacrosse Hosts Canisius Tuesday

The game is set for a 4 p.m. start at the Bearcats Sports Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's lacrosse hosts Canisius on Tuesday, February 28. The non-league contest is set for a 4 p.m. start at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

Binghamton is coming off of a 15-11 loss at Dartmouth Saturday afternoon. In the high-scoring game, Jacqueline Kennedy scored a team-high four goals and Rebecca Golderman scored three. Golderman is currently leading the Bearcats with 14 total goals on the season. Kennedy trails closely behind with nine while Tiffany Ryan has eight. Emma Jehle made 15 saves in the net, her most so far this season.

Canisius (1-3) was picked to finish first in this year's MAAC Preseason Poll after winning regular season last year as well as the conference championships. The Golden Griffs are coming off of a 12-11 loss to Columbia in their home-opener. Canisius offense is led by junior midfielder Erica Evans who currently has 11 goals, 11 ground ball pickups and 11 draw controls. Evan was also voted unanimous as this year's projected MAAC Player of the Year.

Canisius topped Binghamton last season 12-7 as they have for the past four years. The last time the Bearcats won was on March 9, 2012 by an 11-9 score.
