VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton women's swimming and diving program will travel to the America East championships February 9-11. The event is being held in Worcester, Mass. at WPI.

The Bearcats have participated in three dual meets this spring after their training trip to Florida where they competed in the Florida International Sprint Invitational. In Florida, Binghamton finished second out of eight teams compiling 572.5 points.
Sydney Atendido posted the top finish for the Bearcats winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:09.72.

In the dual meet season, the Bearcats 400 free relay of
Kaitlyn Lange,
Abby Koerwitz,
Olivia Santos and
Courtney Foley, has gone undefeated beating St. Bonaventure, New Hampshire and Marist.
Brooke Pettis has also gone unbeaten in the 100 fly in the past three duals. Foley has been a contributing factor for the Bearcats all season holding the top time in the 50 fly, 100 fly, 50 free and 100 free.
Coach
Brad Smith is confident heading into the championships, "Our team has really grown over the course of the season and I expect us to compete well and compete hard this weekend. We've got a couple Bearcats seeded fairly but we'll look for everyone to compete and contribute. Our greatest strength is team this year and if we bring the energy, we'll accomplish great things."
