VESTAL, N.Y.- Binghamton women's lacrosse (4-6) will play host to Mount St. Mary's (1-6) on Saturday, April 1st. The opening draw for the contest is set for 3 p.m at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
The Bearcats defeated the University of Vermont their last time out by a final score of 14-9. Outshooting the Catamounts 29-28, the Bearcats were able to see about half their shots in the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder Rebecca Golderman led the team with five goals, while junior attacker Tiffany Ryan followed close behind with four goals and junior midfielder Jacqueline Kennedy with three goals. Ryan was named Binghamton's athlete of the week after two successful outings scoring four goals in back to back contests. Junior goalie Emma Jehle made 10 saves in the net, helping the bearcats secure the victory.
Mount St. Mary's was selected to finish 5th in the NEC preseason poll this season. They return 15 players from last year, including their top 3 scorers. The Mount are most recently coming off a close 8-5 loss to UC Davis following their first win of the season over Radford, 23-13.
This is the first time that the Bearcats have gone up against The Mount as they hope to extend their win streak with a third straight victory on their home turf.
