Women's Lacrosse Heads to No. 4 Stony Brook Saturday

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (5-7) travel to Stony Brook for their second conference matchup of the season against the Seawolves (10-1) on Saturday, April 8. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start time at LaValle Stadium.

The Bearcats are looking to bounce back after a 17-3 loss against No. 8 Cornell this past Tuesday. Currently, they hold spots in the top four in multiple offensive categories for the America East, including goals per game (11.82), assists per game (5.27), points per game (17.09), draw controls per game (11.73) and caused turnovers per game (10). Junior goalie Emma Jehle leads the America East in ground balls per game (3.45) and saves per game (9.27). Sophomore Rebecca Golderman is fourth individually in goals per game (3.00).

Stony Brook is currently riding a five game win streak with its' most recent victory over Albany 18-11. The Seawolves returned 96.8% of their offensive scoring from last year with 10 starters and are currently ranked at No. 4 in all national rankings (IWLCA, Cascade/Inside Lacrosse and Nike/US Lacrosse polls). Six of these 10 players were named preseason All Americans from Inside Lacrosse. Stony Brook leads the America East in goals per game (14.55), assists per game (9.64), ground balls per game (19.27) and points per game (24.18). Their offense is spearheaded by Kylie Ohlmiller (40G, 35A, 75P) who currently leads the nation in points and the America East in assists. She has also been named the America East Offensive Player of the Week five times this season.

This Saturday will be the 15th meeting between the Bearcats and the Seawolves, with Stony Brook holding a 13-1 advantage and a six-game winning streak in the series. Last year, Stony Brook took a 16-0 victory over Binghamton at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
