VESTAL, N.Y. – Freshman midfielder Noah Luescher has been named the America East Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for August 20-27. He earned the accolade by virtue of his one-goal, one-assist performance in Binghamton's 4-0 season-opening win over George Washington on Friday night.

Luescher assisted on junior forward Chris Nkogue's goal just four minutes into the match against the Colonials. He followed up with his own goal in the 55th minute.

This marks the first time a Binghamton play has earned America East Rookie of the Week honors since current junior midfielder Harrison Weilbacher was chosen twice during the 2015 campaign (Oct. 19 & 26).

Binghamton (1-0-0) heads to defending Patriot League champion Colgate tonight for a 7 p.m. match.
