VESTAL, N.Y. – Sophomore forward
Haris Brkovic has been named the America East Men's Soccer Player of the Week. It marks the first time in his career that he has earned the conference's weekly accolade.
Brkovic scored a game-high and career-best two goals during the Bearcats' 5-1 win at Canisius on Saturday night. Both of his goals came during the span of 2:30 in which Binghamton netted three second-half goals.
This marks the third time this season that Binghamton has earned a weekly award from the America East. Freshman midfielder
Noah Luescher was named the conference's top rookie on Aug. 28 and Sept. 11.
Brkovic, who now has five total points this season, transferred from nearby Broome Community College. He is a 2016 graduate of nearby Johnson City High School.
Binghamton (3-4-1) heads to Cornell on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match.
